So earlier I had the chance to check out the new Call of Duty: MW4 and I have some mixed views of the game.
While it's nice to see a new game come out, the developers really like to throw curveballs at us. Experimenting with new features and adding new ways to play.

While the game I played was only on the BETA phase, it was refreshing to see them integrate old with the new. The movement was clean and more down to realism thant all the high flying and jumping. The TTK was a little to fast but I believe that I was just used all the fast paced movement and this game brings the need to take your time and strategically position yourself to get the kills you need.

Getting rid of all the bright colors and making it harder to see players really brought the realism to the game. Like most CODs, they made it to where its easier to spot players across the maps, taking out of the stealth of the game. Inside the maps, they gave you areas to hide, giving snipers the chance to do what snipers do. However, I would like to see the devs getting rid of scope glint. In the real world, you're not going to see glint from any scope. No matter the amount of sun hitting the scope.
Snipers typically run some sort of camo over the scope that prevents any of this and even then, most scopes run anti-glare lenses to prevent detection. I think the last time a cod didn't include any type of glint, it was around BO1 or MW2 and the reason just like any others, the devs kept getting complaints about the game being unfair because all the low-skilled players were getting out played to snipers camping.

The new audio implemented in the game brings a whole new experience. The audio from the game was clean and using 3D sound was sweet. The new way to hear players talking gives the game an entire new way to play. I have already heard complaints from it but honestly, I do like the setup. If utilized correctly, players can use prox chat to their advantage by listening to where the callouts are coming from, how loud or low they are and once you get used to it, you can determine if they are in front or behind you. This will require us to slow down and listen.

There will be more to review and more to come, I can't wait to see what else they bring to this.

I will be making a video giving a full review of the beta and what they could improve before launch or after launch. What I would like to see.

Welcome to Tru Spec!

If you’ve followed me through YouTube, social media, gaming, photography, or any of the other projects I’ve been working on, you already know that Tru Spec is about a lot more than just one type of content. If you’re new here, welcome—I’m glad you found your way here.

I created this site as another place where I can share the things I’m passionate about without everything having to fit into a short video or social media post.

So, What Is Tru Spec?

Tru Spec is a collection of my interests, experiences, projects, and content.

That can mean gaming one day, photography the next, and then technology, vehicles, outdoor adventures, equipment, or just something interesting I came across and wanted to share.

I’ve never been someone who wanted to stick to just one thing, and I don't plan on starting now.

You'll find content here from Ray Gerber Photography, Tru Spec, and the various projects and interests that come along with them.

What Can You Expect?

This blog will give me a place to go a little deeper than I can on social media.

You can expect things like:

  • Behind-the-scenes looks at my content and projects
  • Photography and stories behind some of my photos
  • Gaming and gaming-related content
  • Technology, electronics, and projects I'm working on
  • Automotive content
  • Outdoor and hunting-related content
  • Equipment and product reviews
  • Tips, experiences, and things I've learned along the way
  • Updates about the Tru Spec community and upcoming content

Some posts may be serious and informative. Others may simply be something I think is interesting and worth sharing.

That's part of what makes Tru Spec Tru Spec.

More Than Just Content

One of the biggest reasons I wanted to create this site is to build something that isn't completely dependent on a single social media platform.

Algorithms change. Platforms change. Trends change.

But having a place where I can directly communicate with the people who choose to follow what I'm doing gives me something much more valuable: a community.

Whether you've been following me for years or you're discovering Tru Spec for the first time, I want this to be a place where you can see what I'm working on, learn something new, find something interesting, or simply hang out for a while.

What's Next?

This is just the beginning.

I'll be using the blog to share new projects, updates, photography, reviews, stories, and plenty of things that don't necessarily fit anywhere else.

I'll also be continuing to build out the Tru Spec brand, create new content, and find new ways to bring the community along for the ride.

So take a look around, check out the store, follow along on social media, and most importantly—stick around.

Thanks for being here.

Welcome to Tru Spec.
